The Northeastern Apprenticeship and Training (NEAT) Program
I.B.E.W. Local 104 apprentices train in the Northeastern Apprenticeship and Training Program, or NEAT, which prepares apprentices for exciting, challenging and rewarding careers as outside Journeyman Linemen.
Local 104’s new (2007) “membership development center” is located in Barrington N.H. on a 5-acre campus; all training is going to be done at this facility. Visit our training yard.
Get Paid to Get Educated …
NEAT will help you learn a valuable trade from highly experienced and skilled Journeyman instructors – and the union outside lineman industry pays you to be part of its training program and get the education you need to become an outside Journeyman Lineman.
… in a Top-of-the-Line School
NEAT operates nine modern training centers throughout the northeast corridor of the United States, with headquarters in Douglassville, Pennsylvania. All together, NEAT services Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Maryland.
The training facilities, including Local 104’s Barrington
location, feature on-site classrooms and laboratories, and
indoor and outdoor pole-climbing yards.
College credit is available to graduates of the apprenticeship
program, who can receive 28 semester hours of college credit
through the American Council on Education that can be applied
toward continued college education.
