Business Manager’s Report - Summer 2011
IBEW Local 104 Staff and their Duties
I have been asked by members to list the duties of my staff so members
can know the correct avenue when issues occur.
President – Jeff Place
Jeff is responsible for chairing all meetings and appointing all committees. Jeff is also in charge of membership development "organizing" and has my support or any help he may need to organize new members into Local 104.
Referral Agent – Ernie Dechene
Ernie's daily duties as Referral Agent are to ensure manpower requests of all signatory contractors are met. If you are called for an employment opportunity, you will come and see Ernie to get all proper paperwork in order. Ernie also serves as the local's recording secretary where he is responsible for keeping minutes at all Union and Executive Board meetings.
MBTA Representative – Hugh Boyd
Hugh works on all MBTA issues as well as any issues with the towns of North Attleboro and Mansfield. Hugh also acts as the local's treasurer.
Organizer – Chris Blair
Chris works very closely with Jeff Place and is responsible for membership development; keeping up with prospective employers and employees in our industry.
Assistant Business Manager – Gary Stacy
Gary works directly for me and handles all issues in our northern jurisdiction (NH, ME, VT). He also handles all union grievances and sits on 104 North and Tel Power negotiating committees. Gary also heads up our local's examining board and is responsible for processing all applicants into our local union.
