Retired Brother John Meehan passes away

Brother John F. Meehan, a lineman for over 40 years and member of
IBEW Local 104 who worked for many different contractors, died on Oct. 14.
He was 86 years old.

Brother John, a resident of Brockton, was the devoted husband of the late
Catherine (Kelleher) Meehan. He was born in Brockton, a son of the late
Thomas M. and Mary G. (Slattery) Meehan, and remained a lifelong resident
of the city. He was the brother of Edward Meehan and his wife, Nancy, of Brockton, and the late James J. and William T. Meehan. Though he never had children of his own, he cherished the time spent with his many nieces and nephews.

During World War II, Brother John served in the U.S. Army with the occupation troops in Japan. He was a life member of VFW Post 1046 in Brockton and the American Legion Post 35 in Brockton. He retired from the MBTA after 15 years.

Brother John had a private pilot's license and enjoyed flying his own plane, and he was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association in Hanson.
