Years of Service Pins Awarded
“Honor” and “Privilege”, those are the first words from International Representative Brian Maher, on the acknowledgement of my new position as Business Representative at Local 104. I will take those words very seriously in any position I have as an I.B.E.W. member.
During our Annual Christmas Meeting in December, we distributed service pins from 5 to 55 years. Over 80 service pins were awarded in all. Our recipients are to be congratulated for their years of service. However a few of the members need mentioning. The Assistant Business Manager, Gary Stacy, along with honoree Brian Connors received their ten year pins. Our Business Manager Tiler Eaton received his 20 year pin, and our Business Agent Ernie Dechene received his 40 year pin. After our 40 year pins were awarded, we then recognized our 50 years of service honorees.
Our Business Manager, Tiler Eaton granted me the honor and privilege of assisting him in distributing our years of service pins to one of our retirees. These were awarded to Henry Barry, Walter McCann, (whom were both there to receive their pins) Paul Cleveland, and Joseph O’Donnell. We then handed out our 55 years of service pins. Two of our honorees, Alfred LeFrancois and Byron Lohnes, were unable to attend due to inclement weather. The next award for 55 years was a highlight for myself, as well as the recipient, I’m sure. It was my honor and privilege in presenting my father, Hugh Boyd with his 55 year pin.
The recognition of our senior members is an important goal of Local 104 and the officers. Without them we would not have the honor and privilege of being 104 members.
Thank you Brothers
In Solidarity,
Hugh Boyd
