GEORGETOWN — Patrick B. "Packy" Thompson, 40, loving son of Paul and Catherine Thompson of Georgetown, brother to Suzanne, Sean, Kelly, Erin and Brian, died suddenly on Friday, July 23, 2010 at his home.

Packy was a proud and active member of IBEW Local 104 and employed as a Union Lineman for several contractors. A 1988 graduate of Georgetown High School, he loved all sports and excelled in football, basketball and baseball. Packy was also very active in "Mud Bowl" football for over 20 years. Being a big Harley Davidson enthusiast Packy enjoyed motorcycle adventures with his brothers and many friends. He was a loving, thoughtful and caring son, brother and friend and will be greatly missed by those who loved him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Patrick to the Georgetown High School Athletic Fund, Winter Street, Georgetown, MA 01833.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Georgetown. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Merton E.
